Rush Park is a 2v2 action-sports game where teams compete to hit the ball into the opponent's goal- except scoring a goal only advances the players further down the map! Score three consecutive goals to win! Players can select from four distinct characters, each with their own unique moves and abilities.
This Sophomore year project class saw programmers, artists, and designers collaborating to create a 2D game of any kind. We sought to make a 2D sports arena game!
This project provided its own unique set of challenges, since the programmers of the project were tasked to create a game engine from scratch over the course of the semester. Because designers had to develop in an engine that was being built as the semester went on, this created a particularly hectic and inefficient development cycle. Nevertheless, the designers-myself included- worked hard to make a fun game out of the tools we were given!
